Why wanting your cultivar to be propagated with us?

For a well planned introduction of a new variety it is of utmost importance to be able to dispose of reliable planting material. Our job is to produce certified bud wood and graft wood of your varieties in a reliable manner, providing licensed nurseries with the right numbers of certified propagation material at the required moment for delivery. For rootstock selections we produce rooted plants for the planting of stoolbeds.

All the propagation material we produce is inspected and certified by the national official certification authority Naktuinbouw. By this means, our products have easy access to other countries, inside and outside of Europe.

In general, new cultivars are protected by plant variety rights (PVR). For the production of propagation material we need your permission, and it is up to you to decide who will be the nursery or nurseries authorised to produce fruit trees of your protected variety. It is you who sets all the requirements, it is our job to deliver high quality propagation material exclusively to your licensees.

We have a long standing experience in the field of propagation material of protected fruit tree varieties, in virus free making, testing, maintenance and propagation up to and including sending in of planting material for PVR testing and lincense management. It is our pleasure to assist you in these topics.

International framework

The principal ideas behind our production system were taken from the advises that have been published by OEPP/EPPO since the eighties of last century. The European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organisation provided a systematic approach for the architecture of production systems for a vast range of crops. The EPPO-terminology (nuclear stock, propagation stock, certified stock etc.) typically covered the different production steps. Nowadays, we use wordings like pre-basic plants, basic plants, certified plants etc., derived from recent EU legislation and describing the products.

In EPPO-publications as well as in old national certification regulations one will read the term "virus free". In recent EU-legislation this term is no longer in use, and it is not allowed to write "virus free" in official certification documents.

Our production system fulfills the requirements set by Naktuinbouw in its certification regulations. Since January 1st. 2017, all the requirements set by the EU Directive 2008/90/EG, are implemented.
